About Me

I have been fortunate to have a unique background. I worked in large enterprise corporations, smaller scrappy businesses, and even my startup endeavors across multiple product types across enterprise-level web apps, dedicated mobile apps, and responsive designs.

During that time, I've created user-focused experiences that reduced unforeseeable cost, time spent on data entry, and improved scalability of a platform and overall customer satisfaction.

What I do

I define what to build (and why) first.

It is straightforward to skip this critical step and assume we know our customers to get started early. By apply design thinking and lean startup best practices, we will continuously validate our ideas with stakeholders to define why, who and what we are going to build.

I design how it works and how it looks.

Design is all about solving problems; it must work. Otherwise, the product is not going to be a success. By applying my knowledge about design and business thinking (from running my startup in the past), I am confident to build a product that works great and meets customer's needs.

I collaborate with engineers to build and launch products.

With my experience of establishing strong working relationships with engineer teams and advocating for a balance between engineering, design, and product ("EDP" stack), I know how to talk to engineers and stakeholders. It is not merely just handoff the design to engineers and expects the product will be a success. I communicate with engineers daily to address their concerns and discuss technical limitations while maintaining the design direction's original intent.

For Danny, design is really all about solving problems. He truly enjoys the iterative process and working with complex requirements to reach a solution that will appear easy and simple to end-users. Also, no matter how complex or tangled the design process is, Danny always maintains a positive attitude.
